Welcome to our cozy cottage on The Hill in Saint Louis brought to you by JALStays! Located in the heart of this vibrant Italian neighborhood, our 2 bedroom/2 bathroom sandwiched between Zia's, Milo's Bocce Garden - local bar, and Gelato Di Roso, Pizzeria de Gloria, and Missouri Bakery (try the chocolate drops!).

A perfect place to stay for visitors who want a comfortable place to call home while exploring all that St. Louis has to offer. The interior is warm, inviting with private back patio to relax.

The space

This is a single family home with the main living area about 10 steps up to main entry. The cozy living room is furnished with brand new furniture from West Elm and Pottery Barn as well as a new 65 inch smart TV. There are two main bedrooms off the main hallway equip with new Luxe Helix mattresses and hotel quality sheets. There is a new full bathroom on the main floor. In the basement, there is access to a washer and dryer as well as the full bathroom with bath tub. There are steep steps, about 10, to get to the downstairs bathroom.

In the backyard, is a small concrete patio with bbq grill and sitting area. This is fenced in and is pet friendly (but no grass) . Not to worry the neighborhood is GREAT For walking dogs with a local park nearby. We do have a list of local recommendations as well.

The best thing about these little bungalow style houses is that the bedroom and kitchen are set back from the road & quiet. This house was just fine and functional. Great location / atmosphere. All the houses I’ve stayed in in The Hill remind me of the house I grew up in. Comfy bed too.

First off, the neighborhood is darling and the location is very convenient to many of the places we wanted to go. We arrived early evening on a Friday, so parking near the house was a little hard to find, but was understandable considering how many great places there were to walk to in the neighborhood. We did manage to find close parking later in the evening and the rest of our long weekend stay. I wish we’d have had time to go to dinner at some of the delicious looking Italian restaurants in walking distance. We did order pizza from a nearby restaurant that was delicious, as well as grabbing tasty Italian pastries for breakfast. There were a couple minor issues that the host was very responsive about and worked to improve for future visits. We’d definitely stay again and recommend.

We loved our stay on the Historic Hill! From enjoying coffee on the front porch, bocce at Milo’s, chess in Piazza Imo, walkability to anywhere on the Hill, and wine on the front porch in the evening. My kids loved walking to get gelato, very safe neighborhood. The proximity to downtown and Forest Park was great as well. 15 min drive to stadium and City Museum. Beds were very comfy!

Clean with great location in the heart of the hill. Ten minutes to botanical gardens. No grass on patio outside but that was no big deal to us. Parking could be tricking but wait one or two moments and something opens up. Wonderful little home that gives that great STL vibe. Will stay again if we get the chance.

We loved staying on The Hill for our family trip to St. Louis, only a 10 min drive to City Museum, Forest Park (Zoo, etc), the original Ted Drewe's on Chippewa... and of course right around the corner from the Piazza, gelato and great Italian restaurants. The playground at Berra Park is just a short walk away and great for the kids too. Our kids now want to live on The Hill, so let us know when you want to sell your house, okay Joe? (;

Probably the best place I’ve ever stayed with my friends. The fact is you’re right there 15 minutes to any great restaurant. Plus you’re only 10 minutes from bush stadium. Not only to mention all the restaurants/ shops you’re around at this place is awesome.

Great location right in the heart of "The Hill" with so many great dining options to choose. Street parking was actually easy for us - several spots if prior to dinner hour. Exterior of home is a bit rough- but once inside, clean, no clutter, & very comfortable. Front porch & small table in back offer outside options. Would stay again if in the area.

What a great place to stay! The house was so clean and stocked with everything you need. The beds are comfortable, the towels are great, the space is laid out well and the host is helpful and responsive. The neighborhood was the most wonderful surprise! So safe and walkable. So friendly and charming. There are amazing restaurants, delis, stores, bakeries, gelato and the fountain all within a few blocks and you want to walk everywhere there just to take in all of the cute houses and the neighborhood vibe. I am so glad we found this place. We went for the nice house and were blown away by the fun area! Highly recommended!

we had no pets. We loved the clean feel of the place, and the quality of the beds- much needed. the kitchen was stocked with all the things needed to cook. Nice showers too. The location was great. Traffic was difficult Sat night- had to wait for a spot to open up, which was surprising. But Sun and Mon nights not as busy. And there was a Schnuks nearby. Would book again! thanks!

This location on The Hill in St Louis was stellar. Walkability was above average and neighborhood has much to offer. Really never needed to get in my car. The beds and pillows were perhaps the most comfortable I’ve experienced at an Air B&B. Linens, and bed coverings were spot on. Every room spotless. Good quality products at your disposal.

This was a great place that I will return to. Location could not be better; I loved being in the heart of the community and just around the corner from bustling shops and restaurants. Very quiet and cosy, with a responsive, local host. The bed and bedlinen were outstanding. Very clean. There’s a set of steep stairs outside and a surprisingly deep threshold, but that’s common among the vintage homes. I just kept thinking of Italian nonnas hauling 20 pounds of groceries up those stairs; very impressive. Make sure to walk the peaceful, residential streets and visit the gelato shop on the same block. A really wonderful vintage home in an Italian-American enclave with a fascinating history. I highly recommend this place and Joe’s guesting.

Joe's place is the perfect place to stay in St. Louis. The house is comfortable and exactly as described. We loved sitting on the front porch each morning and evening, the people on their walks passing by were all friendly. The Hill is a fabulous neighborhood - beautiful, convenient, and quiet. Great coffee shops and bakeries within easy walking distance. Each evening we walked to restaurants (great food for any price range). Getting Lyft or Uber was very reasonable for our destinations (downtown, Soulard, MOBOT). Will definitely book Joe's place the next time we are in St. Louis.

Amazing location in the heart of the Hill walkable to numerous great restaurants and coffee shops. Definitely an interesting long, narrow floor plan with limited space but that was communicated by host and is typical of houses in that area. Plenty of room for what we needed though and comfortable beds, good sized TV and good sized kitchen. Living room couch left a little to be desired in terms of comfort but all in all a great stay and I would recommend!
